Ilex’s guiding investment philosophy has three main tenets. 

Ilex seeks managers with a bottom-up investment approach based on acquiring securities at prices that reflect substantial discounts to reasonably determined estimates of intrinsic value.

Ilex believes the avoidance of capital loss is of greater importance to the achievement of long-term compounded gains than the pursuit of short-term market moves. 

Finally, Ilex believes boutique fund managers have a significant structural advantage over larger managers in particular markets and this advantage provides an opportunity for outperformance. Ilex has experienced superior manager access with such funds.
